Not quite as fancy (or expensive) as the original – The original remote that came with our TV was starting to have issues. It was really hard to press the few buttons we use most often. Actually, it was kind of that way from the beginning but it was sleek and cool so we were okay with it for a while. Then it got worse so I started looking for replacement options. A replacement that looked like the original was about three times as much as this one was and I was afraid I would have the same issues. This one has more of a button for the main controls so it’s easier to know if it’s actually being pressed and works 100 times better. It’s slightly different shaped because of where the batteries go, but it’s comfortable to use and I am so happy we have it. Would have switched much earlier if I wasn’t so stubborn.

We have many young children in our home and unfortunately the remote that came with our tv did not outlast them. We had missing buttons as well as buttons that no longer functioned. At first we were somewhat skeptical if the remote would sync up to the tv. We thought we would have to buy an expensive universal remote, or pay 15-20 dollars to buy one directly from Vizio. We decided to give it a try and are glad we did. The remote is just as good as the original that came with the TV. It also required no confusing sync steps as VIZIO uses the same signals across its IR remotes. Basic functions like power, volume, channel, menu, & navigation keys will work regardless of which VIZIO remote you are using. That makes this a no brainer for me. If you need a new remote for your Vizio E65-E1 save the money and go with this remote.
