An Easy Tip to get around the poor sound quality. – This is a great TV for the money. Picture quality is outstanding, I’m very pleased with the purchase. I agree with most reviewers, the sound quality coming out of this TV is not very good. The speaker sound is Tinny and Hollow sounding but here’s a easy, cheap way around it. I have a high quality pair of Bose speakers attached to my PC via the Green single audio port in the back. This TV only has RCA type jacks for audio, using a separate Left and Right Jack hook up. However, there is a single Green type audio port for Headphones. I plugged my Bose PC Speakers set up into the Headphones Jack and it worked!?! I thought it might only give me sound out of 1 speaker but No, Great Stereo sound. My speakers are high quality but I’m sure any decent PC type speaker set up will work great too. The Bass, Treble and Balance can be manipulated with the Sceptre Remote via the sound set up menu. Bypassing the RCA speaker or sound bar option now makes this TV an even better choice.

Get this – A good value,the tuner is excellent once you find the best area in your abode,get an amplified antenna and you should be able too pull in most of your local channels,the picture quality is good,the sound is puny but tolerable.So this TV is worth a Buy!!!.

I DID NOT GET THE KOMODO! – IM HAPPY WITH THIS PURCHASE IT LOOKS FABULOUS! I REALLY LIKE THE FACT THAT IT DOES NOT HAVE A GLASS SCREEN,(although you can still see the window) SO I DONT SEE THE REFLECTION OF MY WINDOW AS BRIGHT. I HAVE MY X-BOX HOOKED UP THROUGH HDMI, I HAVE MY CABLE THROUGH HDMI AND THEY LOOK AMAZING! SOMETIMES IT EVEN LOOKS LIKE 3D, CABLE AND ESPECIALLY X-BOX. ALTHOUGH I DID NOT GET THE KOMODO (I GOT THE SCEPTRE X435BV-FSR) I DID RECEIVE THE NEWIST OF THE MODELS. THE ONLY DIFFERENCE IS WHEN TURNING ON THE TELEVISION THE WORD KOMODO WOULD APPEAR INSTEAD OF SCEPTRE. ALL THE SPECS ARE THE SAME (ACCORDING TO THE CUST SVC REP) POINT IS THIS MAY BE MY NEW GO 2 COMPANY FOR TV’S AND MONITORS

Sound is horrible but a great TV – I got a sound bar for this TV because the sound on the TV is horrible. I played with all the equalizers and even tried to use the computer mixer to change the sound but it was always tinny sounding. However, the picture is great, the connections were easy, and the picture is big. I got this as a end of year deal as they changed the buttons to another place on the TV for the next year so the price was really good for me. I think it’s regular price now. Love the TV and the remote isn’t hard to use, it’s just the sound is bad, well, not since I got a sound bar.

Audio is terribly bad – It looks nice but sound is terribly bad, I don’t usually “watch tv” except for football so 99% of the time I’m using it for games and audio is very important so it noticeably detracts from the immersion when gaming. Luckily I have a high quality gaming headset so i can get by but it sucks when I want to watch a movie or something and I’d have to suffer the sound “quality”. You can adjust the sound so it won’t be AS horrible but It still sucks. Seriously it sounds like the speakers are made of styrofoam and duck tape. Tldr: If you’re a gamer make sure you have a headset, If not then spend the extra $50 to get a better tv.

Sound isn’t much to desire. – 3.5 stars. Cons: Sound quality is horrible and I live in a small space. Very “tinny” Thankfully my cheap little Bluetooth Anker speaker helps with that issue for now.
