Like others who have left reviews, I purchased this with the intent to connect my Switch to both my television and capture card at the same time and to avoid using the capture card pass-thru (which was only active while the device was powered, so I was swapping cables whenever I wanted to record/stream). I did not need to attach USB power for this to work either.

Not what I was looking for – We were wanting to have multiple monitors, extendable. Our VGA port does not work. And the guy at the computer store told us to get an hdmi splitter. The splitter does work to have two of the same displays, but not not for extending a display to manage separate tasks on the screens. I sure we will use the splitter in the future, like to display our computer on the tv or something.
