Great Antenna, but not the mounting pads – I purchased this antenna/amplifier to replace my old HDTV antenna which worked somewhat marginally since I’m further away from TV towers. I can’t overstate the importance of experimenting with antenna locations to identify maximum channels. I first tried placing antenna at two window locations, but reception wasn’t that good. Furthermore, antenna may obstruct opening and closing windows and blinds and be difficult to clean. The best antenna location for me was on an exterior wall. I did not care for the 3M mounting pads as they have way too much adhesion and the sticky backing will not remove easily from a window or drywall. Instead, I used two push pins to secure antenna to wall. The video quality was great on most channels. There were a few channels that sometimes displayed “no signal”, but I think this has more to do with the time of day and weather conditions. Overall, I’m very happy getting 51 channels with antenna amplifier set to “long range” whereas my previous antenna w/o amplifier only pulled in 31.

My mom is OBSESSED with General Hospital, however, and there’s no way to watch it live for free without an antenna, so I had no choice but to try this new antenna so she could watch her show and my kids at the same time.

Better Than Expected – We didn’t need this. We planned on cutting the cord with Dish but learned after we ordered this we still have time on the contract. So we were going to send this back not needing it but …. Our Kitchen tv is not connected to Dish. It’s connected to one of these antennas but that antenna is 7 years old. It still works great and didn’t need replaced. So, we tried this new antenna thinking 7 years may be time for an upgrade.
