Finally a great solution to having a soundbar! – I’m impressed. I have a few soundbars one of which is right in front of my Sony TV where the IR receiver for the TV is. I couldn’t get a a signal to my TV until I purchased this repeater. It has great adhesion you put on the IR receiver of the TV or whatever device you want to control. USB powered so you can plug it into the USB port of the tv or device with USB power. Simple, small and it works! Highly Recommend if you have issues with your controller to your devices that are hidden or blocked.

Works great in general, and solves the X1 4K issue – The device does exactly what you expect, and does it very well. It receives IR commands from an IR remote and directs them at a component that may not be in direct line-of-site. The specific problem this solved for me is with the new X1 4K box. The native remote for that box uses RF. The box does have an IR receiver, but it’s not very sensitive. To use a universal remote with X1 box you have to point very exactly at the box, and it’s still not reliable. With the sender of this repeater stuck to the front of the X1 and the receiver anywhere visible, I am able to work the remote reliably, even if it’s pointed at the ceiling.

works great but with two caveats – this item works as advertised but i have two caveats. first is that the receiver range seems limited to 10 feet. second is that the transmitter (piece that is closet to device being controlled) is highly sensitive. if i point the device’s remote control directly at that item, i can aim it in multiple locations and still get a response. if i instead use this extender/repeater, there is a much smaller area where i can place the transmitter head to get a response. also, the adhesive is poor, especially if attaching upside-down or on a vertical. horizontal attachment seems to work best, getting help from gravity. i had to use electrical tape to help adhere to vertical surface. the transmitter seems to work regardless of direction facing the device, so this is good!

Connecting wires to cable box. – What a great solution to my problem of finding a way to send my cable signal through my wooden cabinet. First insert usb into port on cable box. Then locate spot on front of box that controls signal. Adhere small signal lights to it.. Pull larger light around cabinet door and affix next to tv and pointed towards seating area. Just point remote at this light and it travels through wire to signal light on cable receiver. All for just $15.00!
