To fast forward, *long-press* on the right arrow button on the D-pad. A fast forward icon will be seen in the on-screen progress bar. To make it forward faster, press the right arrow again to progress at 2x speed. Press 3rd time to go to an even faster 3x speed. Also, simply click (press and release) the right arrow, it will skip the video playing by 10s. You can repeatedly click to skip in 10s increments. To rewind or skip backward, use the left arrow button instead.

Exactly what I was looking for!!! – Easier to use than apple remote. ESPECIALLY for FF, REWINDING. Biggest pain was trying to slide touchpad slowly to ff a show on streaming apps and not being able to control it precisely. This remote allows me to FF as needed by the press of the button. All buttons from original remote are on here. Even a double press will swipe away open appa still. Recommend!!!

This is the remote you are looking for! – This replicates 100% of the functionality I use on the new Apple TV 4K (2nd gen) remote, but for a fraction of the price. I got one of the newest Apple TVs for my living room, and the new remote it comes with is GREAT (other than the Siri button that I never use on purpose but manage to accidentally press all the time). But I also have a bunch of older Apple TV models in other rooms in my house (the ones with the TERRIBLE glass remote). You could buy an authentic new Apple TV 4K (2nd gen) for every TV ($150), get just the new Apple TV remote for $60, or get this one for $15. It controls more TVs than the Apple TV remote can (especially ones that lack CEC) since it has regular IR TV buttons to turn power off and on. I guess my only issue is that I wish it had smooth plastic buttons (like the real Apple TV remote) instead of the grippy, rubbery buttons it has.

Oh my god, this is so much better than that garbage that came with the device. – My remote control stopped working. I tried all of the remedies and then contacted support. Apple support walked me through it and then said we will have you send the remote back since it is clearly not working. Sounds great right? Well, then I got an email that to complete the process, I needed to pay something like $138 for this repair. Ignore the fact that I could have bought a newer version of that remote online for $50 or a complete newer version of the device at the time for $160. So I begrudgingly used an IPad as the remote. What a PAIN. Then I got this. It is so much better than the original remote or using an iOS device as a remote. I won’t make the mistake of buying an apple TV again. But if you have, then this is so worth it. I am glad the original remote broke. That is how good this experience is.
